Tehran, Ankara agree to boost tourism ties: Minister (14 May 2016)


Iran and Turkey have agreed to expand their tourism ties, says Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology.


Tehran, Ankara agree to boost tourism ties: Minister 'Iran and Turkey in recent years have signed an array of cooperation documents on culture and tourism,' Mahmoud Vaezi told reporters on Thursday following his meeting with Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Mahir Unal.


 


The neighboring countries have agreed to expand their cultural relations in all areas including tourism, Vaezi said.


 


The Iranian cabinet minister also said that Tehran and Ankara have agreed to prepare the ground for the private sectors in the two countries to engage in enhancing cultural and tourism ties. 


 


'By promoting tourism ties, we can pave the way for future expansion of economic ties between the two countries,' Vaezi said.


 


Earlier and during his meeting with the Iranian official, Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Mahir Unal, said that his country was eager to enhance more its cultural, historical and natural tourism compared with its already-flourished beach tourism.
