Economic Reports

The Economic Research Department of Middle East Bank prepares annual and quarterly reports on “Iran's Macroeconomic Developments”, "Industry Reports" as well as "Case Reports". The purpose of these Reports is to draw a clear picture of the Iranian economy in order to serve as a useful guide for economic activists and domestic and foreign investors.

The annual and quarterly reports on the developments of the Iranian economy start by examining the developments of the real sector of the economy including economic growth rate and the share of the agricultural, oil, manufacturing and mining and services sectors and also examination of the GDP from the expenditure side. Other topics of these reports include developments in the labor market, consumer and producer inflation rates, trade balance, developments in the foreign exchange market, as well as changes in major monetary aggregates, including the monetary base and liquidity. Budget bills, budget laws and finally the government fiscal performance regarding current revenues and expenditures, oil revenues and development expenditures, followed by privatization, the National Development Fund (NDF) and the issuance of government debt securities are also discussed.

The reports on the developments of Iranian economy conclude with the analysis and review of the capital market, including the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) and Over-the-Counter (OTC), as well as the review of other important economic developments in form of a brief analysis or inclusion of selected parts of the reports of international institutions regarding Iranian economy ranking in the world. Other reports of this Department include examination of various industries such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, steel, automotive, cement, housing and mining, as well as some general topics in economics.
