Visiting Russian Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev called for doubling exchange of goods with Iran.
The Russian minister made the remarks Monday evening in a meeting with Irans Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi.
Tkachev called for removing obstacles on further bilateral relations, in private sector in particular.
Moscow and Tehran are in the same economic atmosphere, said Tkachev, adding Russia did not have active presence in Iran in the past due to the (sanctions).
Anti-Iran sanctions were lifted on January 16.
Russia should facilitate trade exchange with Iran by creating Green Corridors, said the Russian Deputy Agriculture Minister Sergei Levin who was present in the meeting.
Already, Levin had talked about initiatives to create green corridors in the southern Russian Republic of Dagestan in order to reduce the delivery times of Iranian products, increase volumes and legalize current deliveries.
For his part, Vaezi said establishment of a joint electonic customs system can effectively help trade exchange between the two countries.
Green Corridors can accelerate Iran-Russia trade exchange, said Vaezi.
The two can also exchange products by sea, road or air lines, he added.
Vaezi said launching of the railway project that links Irans Astara in northwest to Azerbaijan can play a leading role in bilateral exchange.
He said the two countries officials are to continue regular meetings in order to follow up bilateral cooperation.
Vaezi said Iran is not to decrease level of cooperation with Russia in post-sanctions era because it has been Irans partner during the sanctions era.
He then stressed on the importance of supporting the private sector to achieve further mutual ties.
A few months ago, during joint economic commission meeting that was held in Moscow, Iran and Russia agreed to reach a ten-billion-dollar worth of trade exchange in near future.
