Visiting Deputy Minister for Economic Development Carlo Calenda said Rome in keen on expanding its all-out relations with Iran.
Calenda reiterated that Italy is considered as Irans ninth trade partner in the world, adding this European country is interested in fostering position and become the first trade partner of the Islamic Republic.
He added Italy wants Iran to help Iran become the eighth auto manufacturere of the world until 2018.
Last week, Director General of Italys Industries, Mines and Trade Association Andre Gabriel said Italian companies are seeking investment in Iran.
Addressing a meeting of the Italian a delegation comprising directors of 20 Italian companies and East Azarbaijan provinces merchants, he added that establishment of Iranian-Italian firms in fields of energy, oil, industries and auto-making are among the objectives behind Italian companies presence in Tabriz.
During the same gathering, director of Italian state-run industries Gualtiero Malo also voiced Italian companies readiness for cooperation and establishment of a representative office in Tabriz.
He called for close ties with Iran, especially the companies in Tabriz.
