China is planning to hold the third International Import Expo after containing COVID-19 in the country.
3,000 companies from 150 countries had convened in the second edition of the event. 15 Iranian firms participated in the second edition of the Expo.
China International Import Expo is an annual trade fair held in autumn in Shanghai. It is the first import-themed national-level expo in the world. It features exhibitions of a big number of countries and businesses.
The first and second editions were held in 2018 and 2019 by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Shanghai Municipality.
The exhibition is a good opportunity for Iranian companies to introduce Iranian products and services and hold meetings with foreign firms for further cooperation.
This year’s support of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology as well as the Iran National Innovation Fund for Iranian knowledge-based companies has further encouraged them to take part in the event.
In relevant remarks in November 2019, Iranian Industry Minister Reza Rahmani said car manufacturers and part makers of his country welcome Chinese carmakers wishing to invest in Iran.
“Iranian car manufacturers and car part makers welcome joint investment and cooperation with their Chinese counterparts,” Rahmani said in the port city of Shanghai in China on November 10.
He added that Iran has a developing car industry while predicting that Iran"s car market will get bigger in the coming years.
The industry minister also said while Iran"s auto industry cooperated with some European companies in the past, the industry needs further development to produce cars of higher quality.
He went on to say that the Chinese automakers are increasing the quality of their products in comparison with the past, expressing Iran"s readiness to develop cooperation with Chinese manufactures and investors in order to produce cars of high quality and at reasonable prices.
Rahmani added that Iranian companies that produce car parts can increase their capabilities through joint investments with their Chinese counterparts in order to have a more serious presence in the markets of the region.
The Iranian minister was in China to take part in the 2nd China International Import Expo in Shanghai.
