The Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology, in line with expanding scientific and research ties with Oman, have proposed to implement an array of joint plans with the littoral state in the Persian Gulf, Abdolreza Samimi said on Wednesday.
Oman has given green light to three proposals, he said.
Elaborating on details, Samimi said that for the past four years the Iran-Oman joint committee for scientific relations has been active to bring closer the two nations on scientific and research ties.
Based on the deal, Iran and Oman have agreed to jointly develop algae platforms to produce new proteins, he said.
The second joint research plan concentrates on producing water from crude oil to be used again.
The plan to manufacture a new generation of solar energy equipment to improve the output of oil wells is another joint effort by Iran and Oman, Samimi added.
According to Samimi, the two countries are going to set up special committees to define the framework for their cooperation, methods of implementation and financing the joint plans.
