Economy Minister of Austrian Federal Government Petra Bohuslav said that Austrian merchants and businessmen are willing to develop commercial ties with Iran since this country has high industrial and mineral capacities.
Making the remark in a joint meeting in Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture here on Tuesday, she said 90 thousand companies are presently active in her federation which gives enough reason for both Iran and Austria to promote long-term cooperation.
She said federal companies were mostly interested in working with Iran in industrial machinery and environment technologies.
She also noted that the gross income in the federation amounts to an annual 50 billion euro.
She said Austrian companies are specially interested in promoting ties with Iran because the country enjoys a very influential status in the region thanks to its old history and culture.
The minister further noted that her trip to Iran aimed at expanding international relations especially with Iran.
