Managing director of National Iranian Gas Exports Company elaborated on a gas deal with Georgia and removed ambiguities about the issue.
Ali Reza Kameli made the elaboration while referring to signing of a four-month gas export deal as a test with a private sector company named Georgian International Energy Corporation.
According to the deal, Iran will export 40 million cubic meters of gas to Georgia during that period.
When Irans Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh recently pointed that Iran has inked a gas deal with a Georgian customer, it brought reactions from some Georgian officials saying they have not been informed of the issue.
Zangeneh made his remarks during a recent meeting with Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Levon Yolyan.
Zangeneh, in the meeting, hoped Iran would activate deal with Georgia after the countrys gas could cross into the Armenian soil.
By his remarks on Sunday, Kameli made the details about the deal clear and said Georgia is among Irans newest gas customers that wants to buy gas from Iran for its power plants.
Implementation of gas agreement with Georgia depends on gaining due permission from Armenia, Kameli said.
