Semnan province in Northern Iran has exported 116,000 tons of products worth $120.4 million during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-Sept. 21), local Director General of the Customs Administration Ali Sa’doddin said.
“The exports set an 8% rise in value and 9% drop in volume compared with the similar period, last year,” Sa’doddin said.
He noted that 69 kinds of products were exported by 71 production centers in the Northern province during the 6-month period.
The official added that 5,517 tons of goods worth $24.3 million were imported into Semnan province in the first half of the current year, indicating a 29% and 4% decline in terms of volume and value respectively in comparison with the past year.
In relevant remarks on October 19, head of Iran"s Customs Administration (IRICA) Mehdi Mirashrafi said that the volume of exported goods was three times more than imports in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year.
