An MoU on supplying water and waste water management was signed on Sunday in the presence of Irans Deputy Energy Minister Rahim Meidani and South Korea Deputy Environment Minister Minho Lee.

Meidani said that 7 MoUs have been signed between Iran and South Korea energy ministries since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20).

Due to Koreans experiences in the field of environmental technologies and water and wastewater management and training human resources, the MoUs have been inked between the two countries, he said.

He added that another MoU was signed with K-water and Daelim companies on implementation of waste water treatment plants and it was decided that a pilot plan be implemented to decrease water loss.

He noted that a joint technical committee in the fields of technologies and policy making on water resources and environment and using waste in different agricultural and industrial fields is to be formed between the two countries.

Minho Lee said that signing the MoU aimed at developing cooperation between Iran and South Korea in the field of water and waste water after South Korean presidents trip to Iran.

He emphasized that South Korean firms have high technological experience and capabilities and they are able to supply Irans required water and waste water equipment.
