Iran’s One Month Foreign Trade Nearly $7.5bln

Spokesman of Iran"s Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said the country’s foreign trade record exceeded $7.4 billion over the last Iranian calendar month of Esfand (ended on March 20, 2021).

Latifi said that the exports accounted for around $3.3 billion of the figure, while the rest $4.1 billion were Iran"s imports from other countries.

“Iran"s foreign trade in the period showed a 9.4 percent rise in comparison to the preceding month with a $641 million increase,” he added.

The official noted that China, Iraq, the UAE, Turkey, and Afghanistan were the top five destinations for Iranian products over the one-month period.

“China, the UAE, Turkey, India, and Germany were the top five countries that imported Iranian goods during the period under study,” he further noted.

In relevant remarks in mid-March, Chairman of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Hamid Zadboum said the country’s foreign trade exceeded 65 billion dollars in the past 11 months, with a rise in non-oil exports.

Zadboum said that Iran"s foreign trade stood at $41.3 billion last Iranian year (March 2019-March 2020), predicting that it would reach 70 billion dollars in the current year (ending March 20).

He said that Iran should increase non-oil exports to thwart the US sanctions due to the incessant effort of exporters.
