An official with Ministry of Petroleum welcomed expansion of strategic relations between Iran and Turkmenistan on oil and gas industries.
Deputy Petroleum Minister for International and Commerce Affairs Amir Hossein Zamani Nia made the remarks referring to the meeting between Iran’s Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh and the visiting Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov on Saturday evening.
He said it was agreed during the meeting that an Iranian delegation consisting of senior oil experts to visit Turkmenistan in two weeks.
He said the move aimed at promoting long-term cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan.
The cooperation would include projects in different sectors of oil and gas industries, gas transit and swap, joint projects on gas export and swap of crude oil and oil by-products.
According to Zamani Nia, the present volume of Iran’s export of commodities as well as technical and engineering services to Turkmenistan stood at dlrs 500 million which is to significantly rise in future.
