Iran, Turkmenistan trade to hit $60b (21 February 2016)

Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan said on Sunday that Tehran is set to increase the level of mutual cooperation with Ashgabat to $60 billion within 10 years.


Talking to IRNA, Mohammad Ahmadi put the current level of Iran-Turkmenistan economic trade at four billion dollar. 


As per the agreement inked by Iranian and Turkmen presidents, the two countries are obliged to expand the level of mutual cooperation by six billion dollars each year, he added. 


Ahmadi said Iran enjoys the best mutual cooperation with Turkmenistan among its 15 neighboring countries. 


Pointing to Turkmenistans needs in the fields of trade, industry and technical services, he added activation of private section could play a pivotal role in fostering mutual cooperation.
