Iran, India ink MoU to broaden bilateral ties (19 November 2015)


Senior Iranian and Indian officials in a meeting here signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) to broaden trade and commercial cooperation between the two countries.



The MoU was signed between Iranian Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines, and Commerce Valiollah Afkhamirad and his Indian counterpart Rita Teaotia in New Delhi on Thursday. 



The MoU underscores the expansion of cooperation to remove the existing barriers in trade relations. 



Teaotia vowed to cooperate to expand banking and trade cooperation through following up the issue thru the Central Bank of India. 



An Iranian trade delegation headed by Afkhamirad arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday night to discuss trade and economic ties with senior Indian officials. 



The visit takes place following the visit of the Indian trade delegation to Iran in April.
