Iran, Armenia Reopen Joint Border Crossing

Iran’s Customs Administration Spokesman Rouhollah Latifi announced that the crossing on Iran-Armenia border which had been closed temporarily has been reopened.

"The information received from Moghri customs center in Armenia and statements made by drivers entering Iran from Armenia suggest the main road has been reopened and the vehicles stranded on both sides of Kapan city have been allowed to pass," Latifi said.

He pointed out that Moghri customs center has announced that it was ready to resume receiving trucks and buses headed to destinations in Armenia.

On Friday, Iranian Customs authorities announced that the entrance of the Goris-Kapan road to Armenia was blocked by the Azerbaijani forces, based on the news received from some drivers.

Moghri Customs is located in front of Norduz crossing in East Azerbaijan Province.
